There are many computer upgrades you can do to improve the performance of your computer. Some of the most common computer upgrades are Motherboards, Processors, Memory or RAM, Hard Drives, Video Cards, Sound Cards and Operating Systems. How old is your computer? The useful life time expectancy of a computer is three to five years depending of course on what you use your computer for. If you have anything older than five years old you probably really won't be worth spending much money on considering any new low end $4-500.00 computer will be literally close to ten times the machine in every respect. 2. What results do you expect? Use new applications or have current programs respond faster. Use new products that your computer won't currently support? 3. How much do you expect to spend? I ask this because lest say you want to upgrade your video card. You have a price range of $30 to $600 and up which takes you back to the second question and so what I try to do is help you find the best value and performance for your dollar. There comes a point in upgrading an older computer when you are better off just buying a new computer and I will let you know when that is point is. |
